SPLA Licensing

Server City is a proud provider of licensing under Microsoft Service provider Licensing Agreement. As such, all server providers must subscribe to this scheme when providing Microsoft licensing.
Microsoft licensing however can be a notorious minefield, with many options available depending upon your requirement.
Here are a few of the licensing options available to you.
Please feel free to contact us if you have a specific requirement that is not listed here.
Q: I need SQL server. What licensing would I require?
SQL Server express can run on Windows Server 2003 Web Edition. SQL Server Workgroup, Standard or Enterprise would require Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition.
Q: I have 20 users all needing authenticated access to Windows and Exchange. What is the best licensing model for me?
You would require 20 x Windows 2003 Standard licenses and 20 x Exchange Server licenses. If you require access via RDP, you would also need 20 x Terminal Services licenses.
Q: I have 75 users all requiring authenticated access to Windows Server and Exchange. What is the most cost effective method?
You would require 1 x CPU license (or 2 if it’s a dual processor machine), 75 Exchange CAL’s and 75 TS licenses.
Q: Can you provide additional licenses for products such as Sharepoint, Forefront, Office?
Yes! Pricing is based on a per-user basis and is available upon request.
Q: Which SQL Server license do I need?
Microsoft provide a handy feature comparison on their website at http://www.microsoft.com/sql/prodinfo/features/compare-features.mspx
Q: Can I add/remove licenses at any stage?
Yes you can - you will pay a small labour charge at the point you wish to change your licensing options.
